Monday walk

Lately, the weather has been positively London-like. You know — grey, dreary, sometimes misty „rain“ that isn‘t really rain.

At first it made me nostalgic. But mostly, it‘s slightly depressing. Especially as the days get shorter and the weather turns colder.

But on Monday, the sun came out! So thus I, too, came out of the grey-weather-funk.

One of my favorite places to go for a walk is along the Aarequai — from the centre of town there is a pedestrian / bicycle promenade along the lake in the direction of Oberhofen.

The Stockhorn emerges from its days-long cloud cover.

Until Monday, I didn’t know that there were conifer tree with leaves that changed colour!
This is called a larch. Monty Python explains it clearly.

The water in Lake Thun and the Aare River are crystal clear this time of year.

The composer Brahms lived here during the summers from 1886 to 1888 (in a house that was demolished in 1933).
