Reboot

Hello! I‘m blogging again!

I used to blog a lot - throughout my last year at university, my first year in the „real world,“ when I moved to London, during stints abroad in Oman and Saudi Arabia. Thoughtful prose mixed with angsty musings of a 20-something, devolving into „photo essays,“ then just photos, then just an automatic post from my Instagram account ... to nothing for a few years.

Blogging has always been an easy way to update far-away family, friends and acquaintances at what was going on in my life, the things I see and enjoy, my observations. And since my London days and the eventual abandoning of blogging as a regular activity, of course life hasn‘t stopped. My thoughts and observations have been kept mostly in manual form in recent years, but I couldn‘t help but want to share select „dispatches“ from life as of late.

The Cliff‘s Notes version: my husband M and I left London in early 2018 for Switzerland. We‘re based in Thun, an idyll of a small city on the banks of the Aare River and Lake Thun, the historic gateway to the majestic Bernese Oberland mountains of the Swiss Alps.

Life has changed, and we‘re rolling with the punches. This blog is a good way for me to continue writing (maybe venture into German if I’m brave enough?!) and sharing photos that don’t usually make it to social media, allowing a glimpse into our impressions of life here. (And I find it the best way to honour a long-ago promise to a friend that I would start reviewing types of Swiss chocolate, cheese, and other tasty goodies for her ... 😉)

Here we go ... Los geht‘s!
